DeLaval joins Washington DC exhibition spotlighting Sweden’s effective utilisation of AI

DeLaval Plus Behaviour Analysis to be showcased at an Embassy of Sweden exhibit highlighting AI use from multiple Swedish companies.

DeLaval was invited to share its AI-powered farm management tool, DeLaval Plus Behaviour Analysis, at the U.S. Embassy of Sweden’s new exhibition, ‘Artificial Intelligence IRL: How Sweden Is Putting AI to Good Use.’

The exhibition features selected Swedish companies and organisations showcasing agriculture-related products and services that utilise AI to create real-life benefits.

Urban Ahlin, Ambassador of Sweden to the United States, says: “I believe that AI will have a profound impact on our society. This exhibition will show examples of how AI is put to good use. But naturally, with a powerful ability like AI, there are also risks involved that we should be aware of. With this exhibition, we invite visitors to reflect on the role of AI in our future society.”

Joaquin represented DeLaval at the exhibit’s opening. He also addressed attendees on the role of AI in facilitating sustainable food production.

DeLaval’s contribution focuses on our new data sensor solution, Behaviour Analysis, which is powered by DeepBlue (DeLaval’s deep learning technology), to deliver real-time cow behaviour information to the farmer and provide a solution for farmers seeking labour efficiencies and enhanced reproductive outcomes. It uses AI technology to alert farmers to health events such as heat detection and the onset of illness. Additionally, it can pinpoint a cow’s location in the barn, making it fast and easy for farmers to find animals that need attention.

Fernando Cuccioli, Executive Vice President Cluster Americas, DeLaval, says: “AI technology is allowing dairy producers to make data-driven decisions to sustainably produce more milk while prioritising animal health. It is a remarkable advancement for our industry that allows producers to manage herd health in real time from their devices and relieves labour-strained operations. DeLaval is proud to showcase its Swedish roots and AI advancements at  the exhibit in Washington D.C.”
